Finally Make That Decision

Hey Reader,

I almost didn’t go on a walk with my family the other day. It didn’t feel important enough. I had other things I could have been doing at that time.
And honestly? It felt easier to just skip it. Everyone else could go and I could get some things done at home. I was still going to be doing something; just not taking a walk.

The truth is this:

Most midlife moms don’t struggle with motivation.
They struggle with decision fatigue. Should I do this activity instead of that one? How long should I do an activity?

We think too long.
We weigh every option.
We try to make the “right” choice.

And as we are going through all the options, we don’t make a decision at all. We become paralyzed and then procrastination creeps in.

So here is something you can try:

The 10-Minute Decision Rule

If something is on your mind, give yourself 10 minutes to decide. Set a timer on your phone.

Once you decide, take action immediately!

No spiraling.
No rethinking.
No asking for five other opinions.

Just decide → act.

Because here’s what happens when you don’t:

You second-guess yourself. You delay your goals. You start believing you can’t trust your own instincts. That’s where confidence actually breaks down. It doesn't have to be big moments. It can also happen in the small, everyday ones.

When I went on our recent family walk, nothing dramatic happened. But I proved something to myself:

I can take make a decision quickly.

Try this today:

Pick one small decision you’ve been putting off. Give yourself 10 minutes to make a decision. And follow through immediately. That will build self-trust.

If you can relate to this, I talked more about this in my recent YouTube video. It was a real life moment that happened without overthinking. Check out the video here.

And if you use the 10-minute decision rule, reply to this email and tell me what you used it to help you decide.

Be you. Be focused. Be well.

Hey Reader, Welcome to Quarter 2! It is very hard to believe we are entering the second quarter of 2026. It is April. There’s something about turning the page into a new quarter that can either excite you or make you feel anxious. Which side are you on? This month is a chance to keep going with intention. Last month for me wasn’t about doing everything perfectly. It was about being present enough to notice the moments that actually matter. I had quite a few of those with everything that went...

Hey Reader, The newsletter is a little behind this week. Well, I am going to blame it on the snow. If focus feels harder for you lately, I want you to hear this clearly: It doesn’t mean you’re lazy. And it doesn’t mean what you’re working toward won’t ever work. If you are like me and in midlife, you are carrying a lot. When we sit down to focus now, our minds won't focus on only one task. They spin through everything else: Our kids. Our spouse. Our parents. Our siblings. The errands. The bills.The...

Hey Reader, As January comes to a close, I wanted to pause and take a calm moment with you. This month always feels long. It is full of people telling us what we need to do to get ready to get through the year. It is full of fresh starts, big intentions, and then the reality of cold mornings, darker days, and winter weather. We have to take charge. ❄️ If you’re in the middle of snow, ice, or just the heaviness of winter, I hope you’re finding small ways to stay safe, warm, and steady. January...
