How is your January feeling so far?

Hi Reader,

We are several days into 2026. How is it feeling to you?

Maybe you’re starting strong, ticking off tasks, and feeling energized. Or maybe, like many of us, January started with a little chaos, a few missed intentions, or a slow start.

Here’s the gentle truth: however January has begun, you’re on time and right where you need to be. There’s no perfect start. No “right” way to enter into the new year. What matters is what comes next. What matters how you handle the situations you are in.

This week, try a small check-in with yourself:

  • Notice what’s working. Even tiny wins count.
  • Give yourself permission to reset. Missed days? Start again, without guilt.
  • Choose one intentional action. Just one action to move you forward.

January is your space to experiment, reflect, and breathe. Don't make it a race to “do it all.”

If you need a simple way to get back on track, try this: write down three things you can do this week that will help you take control of the month. Keep it small, keep it manageable, and watch your momentum grow.

You’ve got this. One calm, intentional step at a time. Remember we are creating the life we choose with purpose and intention.

Be you. Be well. Be focused.

Find your flourish,
Shanna

P.S. If January feels messy, that’s okay. Just slow down and don't give up.

Hey Reader, I almost didn’t go on a walk with my family the other day. It didn’t feel important enough. I had other things I could have been doing at that time. And honestly? It felt easier to just skip it. Everyone else could go and I could get some things done at home. I was still going to be doing something; just not taking a walk. The truth is this: Most midlife moms don’t struggle with motivation. They struggle with decision fatigue. Should I do this activity instead of that one? How long...

Hey Reader, Welcome to Quarter 2! It is very hard to believe we are entering the second quarter of 2026. It is April. There’s something about turning the page into a new quarter that can either excite you or make you feel anxious. Which side are you on? This month is a chance to keep going with intention. Last month for me wasn’t about doing everything perfectly. It was about being present enough to notice the moments that actually matter. I had quite a few of those with everything that went...

Hey Reader, The newsletter is a little behind this week. Well, I am going to blame it on the snow. If focus feels harder for you lately, I want you to hear this clearly: It doesn’t mean you’re lazy. And it doesn’t mean what you’re working toward won’t ever work. If you are like me and in midlife, you are carrying a lot. When we sit down to focus now, our minds won't focus on only one task. They spin through everything else: Our kids. Our spouse. Our parents. Our siblings. The errands. The bills.The...
